The drunk driver -- Jimmy Don Rodgers of Scottsboro, Alabama -- was sentenced twenty years after pleading guilty to manslaughter, receiving a split sentence and ordered to serve for two years. According to the Alabama Department of Corrections website, Mr. Rodgers is scheduled to be released five days from now. He will have five years of supervised probation, during which time Rodgers will be on a court-ordered drug rehab program.
Thanks for the update. It's a relief he's still in the pen. I don't understand why he was paroled after 2 years, especially since he's a danger to the public. Sadly, the penal codes are a joke in many states, not just Alabama. It makes you want to circumvent the legal system to get justice. Even if Mr. Rodgers serves his entire sentence, I doubt he'll reform himself.
