Just keep in mind that this is a UK based company doing the give-away. It's not legal in the US to have a sweepstakes that requires buying something to participate. In other words, this is not a legal contest here.

Correct! And the website should have a (.UK) address not US in order to require people to buy something to participate. With a ?US.com address it is elligal to require a purchase to enter a sweepstakes contest.
