From Alto Velo:

Ashleigh Jackson

Ashleigh Jackson, 24, is a member of the Alto Velo cycling team. She was riding around 5:30 p.m. Sunday April 19, 2009 when a late-model silver BMW drove up from behind and struck her on Hwy 9 and Fruitvale Avenue in Saratoga. Jackson's boyfriend, David Nelson said the car's mirror clipped Jackson and knocked her to the ground. She has suffered head trauma including bleeding into her brain. If you have any information regarding this terrible accident please contact the Saratoga Police Department immediately.

Please catch the bastard.
Good to see a reward offered. Should get people looking for this disgraceful driver.
I placed this on Digg, hopefully that'll generate some traffic. digg it up! http://digg.com/health/Cyclist_hit_and_run_seriously_injured_help_find_the_driver
Is she okay?
As of this past weekend she remains in critical condition in the ICU.
Let this be a lesson to cyclist who ride on HWY 9. It's such a dangerous road I don't know why they allow bikes on there to begin with. Hopefully she recovers from this accident. Its interesting cylist have the "share the road" sloagan but yet they take up the entire lane and then get pissed when they get hit by a car..
Anontard: SHE WAS IN THE BIKE LANE at Fruitvale.
Hwy 9 is such a dangerous road I don't know why they allow the cause of the accidents (cars) on the road to begin with.
We live in a society where moral values are dissappearing. People are selfish and don't want to take responsibility for their mistake and negligence, and it's not just the poor and uninsured people anymore. One would think that the driver of such an expensive car would be well off and insured, and professional, and responsible, and would take responsibility for his/her actions. But no, lack or moral values is spreading to all levels of society, causing problems for the whole world: from the mess on Wall Street to threat to people's safety as demonstrated by this very unfortunate accident. I don't know how the perpetrator of this act can look at him/herself in the mirror. I hope he/she dies of an anxiety attack from the stress caused by guilt and fear of being caught. I hope the responsible person is found, and I really hope Ashleigh gets the biggest shark there is as a lawyer and sues the ass off of this bastard driver and takes him out to the cleaners.
it was more than the mirror that hit me, after talking to the police and having my at the BMW dealership with my bike and officers hold me on my bike taking photots of how this went down. turns out the grill hit me, dead center, and i was thrown into the mirror. but I'm healing.
Ashleigh, thank you for stopping by and I'm glad to know you're on the mend.
