Believe it or not, this is an SPD compatible cycling shoe.

Keen Austin Cycling shoe

Building on the success of their popular Commuter Sandal and Springwater cycling shoe, KEEN created the Austin Pedal shoe for men. The waterproof leather with classic Oxford lace design disguises the bike-ready performance of a recessed SPD plate underfoot. The Austin comes prepared for long commutes with a moisture wicking lining and toe-protecting rubber outsole.

For women, KEEN took their Presidio shoe and added SPD compatibility to create the Presidio Pedal.

Keen Presidio Cycling shoe

The Presidio Pedal blends the outsole construction of a lightweight hiking shoe, the style of a downtown street shoe with the SPD-compatible performance of a bike shoe. A full grain waterproof leather upper with durable top stitched construction and a soft leather lining offer style and comfort. A recessed SPD plate allows for clipless efficiency, while an anti-microbial metatomical footbed and rugged outsole with toe coverage provide support and protection.

These shoes will be available Spring / Summer 2010.

Those are awesome! I'd wear those to commute and at work.
Cool. I already wear the regular Austins. They are very comfortable.
Just got back from doing an entire tour in the Keen sandals. Still love them (previously used for commuting only). Actually, on cold days, they are warmer than my Sidis, because the thick rubber sole sits between my foot and the metal of the SPD cleat. Looking forward to the release of the shoes.
@Gunnar: Yeah, I can't wait until they're available.

@Juan: My wife has some Keens and absolutely loves them.

@Chatterbox: I know of a few cold climate cyclists who like to use SPD sandals in the winter.
I think with the release of these shoes in 2010, people will be more diligent in cycling ..
This is about time! I emailed them multiple times (after the release of the skinny sandal... and again after the release of the first awkward shoe).. both times asking for a Bronx-style commuter shoe with a true Keen footbed. The other Keen SPD shoes don't fit like Keens.. and the shoes were ugly. These are exactly what Keen should be doing with SPD.
