The Chicago Bike Program created this video to explain how cyclists and bus drivers should ride and drive to get along in city traffic.

We can all find some quibbles with this, but overall I think they’ve done a good job with this.

Ah! They show my worst nightmare over and over on that video. I absolutely HATE bus drivers that pass a cyclist only to stop <200ft later. They might get there 2 seconds faster, but it inconveniences the rider much more since they either have to now stop for 1 minute, or merge into traffic. Just let the bike stay in front, please!

I do media/camera/message training as part of my job and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the performance of these two presenters. I don't live in Chicago or encounter many buses, but I watched the whole thing and found it very informative.www.mikespokes.blogspot.com

Chicago is becoming a fairly good city to cycle in. This video created by the CTA is proof of the city's acknowledgement of cyclists on the street.
