Video by California Is A Place. Props to my friend Kit, who writes, “Never underestimate the power of good people with a passion for the bicycle. Even in East Oakland. Especially in East Oakland.” This video is good stuff, and I’ve met the Scraper Bike King Baby Champ and he’s good people.



This kid has heart. Champ Stevenson started promoting Scraper Bikes in Oakland when he was still a teen and is still going strong with it.

How long before we see Mormon missionaries on Scraper Bikes?

Rain in Santa Rosa

The previous editions of the Amgen Tour of California have started on Presidents Day weekend in February. Rain and cold weather has been a problem for viewers, for the cyclists, and for the aircraft orbiting overhead that shoot video and relay radio traffic from the bike race to ground stations so the rest of the world can follow the world online.
