Alan @ EcoVelo points me to a study recently published in the journal Injury Prevention showing that provincial helmet laws have no impact on bicycle ridership in Canada.

Walk Score adds Transit Score

The popular Walk Score service that rates locations on their walkability added a “Transit Score” function today.

Scotts Valley Fixed

You don’t see too many fixed gear riders in Scotts Valley. It’s a small town in the Santa Cruz Mountains, with significant grades on some of the roads. To get to or from Santa Cruz for shopping or visits means about 500 feet of elevation change over three miles.

The life of a Toronto bike thief

Journalist Richard Poplak worked with illustrator Nick Marinkovich and create a graphic novelization of the life of Igor Kenk. Kenk is the notorious Toronto bike peddler who was found with thousands of stolen bikes when police raided his shop, garages and warehouses in 2008.

Broken seatpost!

Happy Friday, everybody. I was Just Riding Along when my plastic seatpost snapped on my bike ride to work this morning.
