I don’t really follow team sports, but it’s hard not to notice the excitement surrounding the World Series games between the San Francisco Giants and Texas Rangers. Tip to Rangers fans flying into SFO or SJC — don’t rent a car, because you won’t find any parking in San Francisco, and you especially won’t find parking anywhere near AT&T Park.

From SFO, take BART from the airport to Millbrae. Cross to the Caltrain side of the platform, buy a two zone ticket and ride northbound Caltrain to the end of the line in San Francisco. It’s a short walk to the ballpark from Caltrain 4th & King. If you’re staying near the airport, you can ride Caltrain back to Millbrae and then catch a cab to your hotel. Please don’t board the bike car; some of us can get a little surly to non-bike passengers.

From SJC, ride the VTA #10 airport shuttle bus (this one’s a free ride) to Santa Clara Caltrain. From Santa Clara you need a four zone ticket. There’s a lot of construction right now at Santa Clara so ask for help. Catch northbound Caltrain to the end of the line at 4th & King, from where you can walk a couple of blocks to AT&T Park. Just follow the huge crowds of orange jerseys.

BART and Caltrain tickets are dispensed from ticket vending machines (BART’s are blue and gray; Caltrain are red and white) which accept credit cards, bills and coins. On BART, don’t forget to retrieve your ticket after passing through the boarding gate — you’ll need it to get out at your destination station.

BART & Caltrain schedules are integrated into Google Maps transit, so you can plug your start address in for scheduling.
