Elections, bike bombs, and bike goodies

Oops, it happened again.

Thanks so much for all of the discussion yesterday on vulnerable users. I reported then that a pedestrian walked straight into me even though I was at a dead stop on my bicycle.

Guess what — the same thing happened again this morning at the same location. The only difference was my speed — about 5 MPH instead of 0 MPH — and another pedestrian bumped into me.

Bike commuter, livable streets advocate and Green Party member Celia Wade-Brown won the race for mayor of New Zealand’s capital and third largest city in an instant runoff election in which she received 176 more votes than the incumbent mayor, Kerry Prendergast.
