Bike in a Box

When Performance Bikes announced their “Kids Bike In A Box” promotion last year, I thought it was a great idea. I still do.

It’s a simple idea: you pick a bike by consulting a sizing chart, order the bike, and a fully assembled bike in a box shows up on your doorstep. You just need to adjust and tighten the handlebars and the bike is good to go on Christmas morning.

In addition to child bikes from Schwinn, GT, Diamondback, Fuji and Skuut, Performance carries private label bikes: 12″ Boost & Chickadee for toddlers and pre-schoolers; 16″ Thrasher & Sparrow for ages 3-6; 20″ Downforce & Piper singlespeed with coaster brake; 20″ Burnout & Starling is geared with seven speeds; and the Holeshot & Raven finish out the line with 24″ tires and 21 speeds. Performance also has trikes and balance bikes for small children.

  1. I also think it is nice and good idea. I want to give my vote to sombody wonderful. I will want to export mama bicycle in the big box from Japan to your home in the future.^^

  2. I’m just waiting for my 5-year old to decide whether he wants a bike with a rear handbrake (Performance Downforce) or a banana seat (KHS Hot Rod) before I try this out. Luckily, I’ve got a few months before his birthday!
