Levi Gran Fondo: Hit & Run Reward

During Levi Leipheimer’s King Ridge Gran Fondo bicycle ride last October, 57 year old Anoush Zebarjadian was hit from behind with the side mirror of a 90s maroon Ford Explorer. The driver, who reportedly harassed other cyclists on the ride, fled the scene. Riders who witnessed the collision on Graton Road said the hit appeared to be intentional. Zebarjadien is still recovering from the severe head injuries he sustained in the assault.

The California Highway Patrol has hit a deadend on their investigation. The Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of the hit-and-run driver.

“The CHP needs the public’s help in this investigation,” says CHP sergeant Robert Mota I believe that someone out there has information that could lead to the arrest of the responsible person. The reward money will hopefully entice that person to come forward.”

Masiguy moves on

Tim ‘Masiguy’ Jackson gave his 2 week notice to Haro/Masi and will become lifestyle bike product manager at ASI, which owns Fuji, Breezer and a few other familiar brands.

Tim’s enthusiasm for Masi is widely acknowledged to have brought a near moribund brand back to increased recognition and prominence in the world of bike retail.

I know a couple of people at ASI, and Tim’s a good fit there.  I might be almost as excited as he is in his new role developing and promoting commuter bikes!

Meat Bicycle

This is so wrong and so oddly random: When you combine muscle, power and skill with a sword, the result is a pretty woman sitting on a meat bicycle?

I’m told this is an ad for Cold Steel Knives, and that’s Lynn Thompson, the “Founder, President and Face” of Cold Steel Knives in the video. With his highly skilled martial arts moves, you too can learn to carve a bicycle shaped object out of solid meat!

Or something like that. Maybe we’ll see this bike at NAHBS 2011 in Austin in a few weeks?
