What some of the bloggers I follow are writing on the death of Osama bin Laden.

When news of Osama bin Laden’s death hit the news late last night, thousands showed up in front of the White House to celebrate. Several hundred people used Capital Bikeshare to get there. Between 10 p.m. Sunday and 2 a.m. Monday, 558 of the red bikes were checked out. That’s more than five times the 105 that were being used at the same time last week.

Gwadzilla, who lives in DC and takes photos of cyclists there, missed the late night hoopla at the White House.

“Hearing people cheer and sing the joys of killing isn’t my idea of a Magnificent Monday,” writes Sioux in Chambana. Osama bin Laden had it coming and I’m glad justice was served, but I can’t be ecstatic about the taking of a human life.

  1. Definitely a positive accomplishment by our Commander and the Seals. Meanwhile SMU students believe that President Obama should be thanking Bush (http://yfrog.com/z/h76cabcj) and a poll conducted by CNBC shows that 72% of its viewers claim they do not feel safer with the death of bin Laden.
