Snow day reading

I lived in Wichita Falls, Texas for a while (before that monstrosity of an elevated freeway was constructed straight over downtown), and one distinct memory I have is that of a whole long line of police cars responding to an accident on the north side of town during an unusually wintry day. I watched from my bicycle on an access road as I watched several of them slide into the ditch.

You might enjoy scenes like that, but it might be better to stay home and enjoy the time with your friends and family instead. If you haven’t lost power and Internet access yet, here’s a collection of the latest on the bicycle Interwebs.

Shout out to my blizzard bound friends

Jen in Chitown, Ed in Tulsa, Jill in Alaska, Joe in DC, Warren in Kansas City and….

…and are they really the only ones posting about snow and ice today? Did an ice laden tree branch pull a Hosni Mubarek and render everybody without Internet access already?

  2. We only got 6-7 inches, lots of it sleet. Still closed down everything for two days ( enough of it was just plain ice, and there were winds) and we were in a little window of Getting Less of Everything (I screenshot radar pictures when we were in a precip-free circle, and it happened several times).

  3. “only” 6-7 inches, she says.
