Stage Three Forecast

The Amgen Tour of California travels from Auburn south to Modesto today.

Like yesterday, today’s route through California’s Gold Country into the Central Valley favors sprinters. According to the National Weather Service, today’s racers can expect rain showers, cool temperatures, and 10 to 15 MPH headwinds as they push their way south to a circuit finish in Modesto.

The race begins an hour from posting time. As of now I haven’t heard of any race delays or other changes, so keep your fingers crossed. In this race, you never know. At least the cyclists won’t be climbing any active volcanoes in this race.

Team Liquigas-Cannondale posted video with some commentary on the snowed out Stage 1, with commentary from Ted King, Tim Duggan and others. You can watch for more video updates from this team at Cannondale’s Off the Front .
