University cycling team director

Now Hiring: Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas has an opening for a director for their cycling team. The director is responsible for the overall daily operations of the cycling program to include team management, coaching, training, recruiting, sponsorship procurement and public relations activities.

Candidates must have a good knowledge of the rules and regulations of the cycling sanctioning bodies of which the University is a member; know how to prepare and adhere to a fiscally responsible budget and also know how to plan, promote and direct collegiate races.

Most collegiate cycling teams are at private schools. Midwestern boasts one of the very few collegiate cycling teams at a public university. The program, which began during my last year at Midwestern, is supported in large part by the annual Hotter ‘N Hell Hundred bike ride in Wichita Falls.

  1. My father-in-law lives just east of Wichita Falls but I haven’t visited the campus in a long while. I had no idea about the statue.

MSU is a good school and a it’s a good size, I think. I got my start in “serious” cycling while in Wichita Falls with long rides to Burkburnett, Henrietta and elsewhere on all of those Farm to Market roads. Met my wife there, too 🙂
