Pistard – Italian threads for cycling

Pistard in Italy designs and sells functional cycling apparel with a Euro flair.

Pistard is a French word for track cyclist and is widely used in Italy, according to Luca from Pistard Apparel. They offer technical road cycling apparel, but they also aim for the urban skinny pants set with belts, breathable commuter shirts, jackets and (of course) skinny pants. You don’t have to be a fixie hipster, however, to appreciate the functional utility of their apparel.

I’ve never really been quite sure what to think of their marketing, but I think that’s partly due to the language barrier. This video, for example, doesn’t really speak to me, but maybe it says something for you.

If you’re looking for Italian made cycling flair, check them out. Shirts run about US$100, pants and jackets about $200. Shipping to the USA will cost you another forty clams (I think for the entire order), though orders over €250 (roughly $320) are shipped free, so combine your order with a friend.

File this under “gift ideas for cyclists.”

  1. This has nothing to do with any language barriers: the guy is zipping his jacket at 0:33 and one second after that, the jacked is uzipped.
