64 docks at four kiosks are planned for the Caltrain station at 4th & King (compare against San Jose Diridon Station, where 90 bikes are planned). In February 2011, an average of 864 commuters brought their bikes with them to the City during the week. With gas prices through the roof these days along with the gorgeous weather, that number is easily at least 1,000 now. With bikes bumped from many of the 15 morning rush hour trains, perhaps those 64 bikes can help alleviate the crush of bikes on each train. I imagine the reality will be a flock of early birds grabbing all bikes early on.
