Santa Cruz Friday Night Alleycat for the rest of us

This is not a race: No uber crazy bike handling skills necessary! Race Through Time and learn a little history in this bike / walk scavenger hunt sponsored by the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History.

Assemble a team of two to five people for a fun race through Santa Cruz history this Friday evening, June 15, 2012. Organized by the Museum of Art & History, Race Through Time is back and better this year with a biking and walking component, daring new clues, awesome prizes, and surprise challenges along the way.

Teams win points by finding answers to the riddles, with extra points will be rewarded to the best-dressed team, and teams who participate in surprise-challenges held at various locations. When the clock strikes 8, all racers must be back at the Museum.

Teams must sign up by noon on Friday. As of Tuesday night the race is already about 2/3rd full, so sign up ASAP to ensure a spot. On Friday, teams check in from 5-6:15. At 6:15, you open your clue sets to learn the rules, after which you’re released into Santa Cruz to get to as many checkpoints as possible.

You return at 8 PM with your completed clue set. Points are not awarded for speed, so no crazy shenanigans, please! Points are tallied and winners announced, with food and drink available for the after party.

Your first checkpoint: Find the details and registration information at the Santa Cruz MAH website.
