Tracy Morgan doors a bicycle

“Comedian” Tracy Morgan (30 Rock) doors a cyclist in New York and blames the victim.

The “30 Rock” star was sitting in his parked car on Third Avenue at around 8:30 p.m. when the unidentified bicyclist pedaled north and slammed into the silver vehicle. “I mean this guy was wearing all black,” said Morgan. “If you want to write a story about something, write a story about how these guys should wear lights or reflectors or something,” Morgan said as he waited for a tow-truck driver to arrive and fix his damaged door, which wouldn’t close.

  1. 8:30pm is about an hour after sunset.  Tracy might be right that “these guys should wear lights”.

If the cyclist didn’t have a headlight, while riding in the door zone after dark, should he get partial credit?

  2. I was in NYC two weeks ago, first time in years, and was amazed at how many cyclists were riding around without lights, reflectors, any of the basics of night riding visibility. If I were to put a number on it, I’d say one out of every ten cyclists I saw had lights of some sort.

  3. He’s a jerk, but I agree cyclists at night should resemble Christmas trees.  The judge should be able to look at a picture of you on your bike and say “How the hell did you miss THAT?!  You must have been on your phone!”
