Ride your bike to the San Jose Summer Jazz Festival this weekend

Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition will provide free valet bicycle parking at the San Jose Summer Jazz Festival Friday through Sunday. You can find the bike parking on Paseo de San Antonio between First and Cesar Chavez Plaza behind the Fairmont Hotel.

The Jazz Festival website highlights the copious public parking available all around downtown San Jose, but they also mention the various public transportation options are available to and near downtown . VTA light rail takes you Right There as do the several downtown bus lines. Caltrain and Capitol Corridor stop at Diridon Station, which is about a 15 minute walk from downtown (and too bad bike share isn’t available just yet!) DASH — the free Diridon to downtown shuttle — only runs during the week, but it runs until after 9 PM so Friday participants can take advantage of the ride.

Because San Fernando Street will be closed between Market Street and Almaden Avenue beginning tomorrow morning at about 10 AM, VTA will reroute several bus routes around the closure Friday through Sunday. If you ride VTA 63, 64, 65, 81, 181, DASH, Hwy 17, or MST 55 and use any of the downtown stops, pay attention, because some of the stops will be eliminated this weekend!
