Transportation finance policy at the Commonwealth Club Friday

The Commonwealth Club of Northern California will host a discussion on U.S. transportation policy tomorrow, Friday, June 21 at 9 AM. Admission is free.

This event, underwritten by the Mineta Transportation Insitute of San Jose, features a discussion with Caltrans director Malcolm Dougherty, CA HSR CEO Jeff Morales, American Public Transportation Association chair Flora Castillo, and Asha Weinstein Agrawal of the Mineta Transportation Insitute. Former Transportation Secretary Mortimer Downey will moderate the discussion. DOT Counsel Katie Thomson will give the keynote, unless Ray Lahood shows up which some sources say might be a possibility; retired Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta will introduce the session.

The panel will discuss transportation finance challenges at the state and national levels. Some local bike advocates might bring up bike issues 🙂

The event is free, but you still need to save yours spot and show up early to check in at the San Francisco club room at the corner of Market and 2nd Streets. That’s the Montgomery Street BART station. You can also listen to the session later on Friday evening on KQED or via their online media archive.
