Mark Cavendish At Speed

Mark Cavendish is his usual hilarious if profane self in the followup to his popular Boy Racer book. He’ll lose the yellow jersey this afternoon during the individual time trial in the Amgen Tour of California, so get it while it’s hot.

In At Speed: My Life in the Fast Lane, Cavendish writes of his experiences since he began winning bike races. He has the same breezily flippant style of his earlier book, though he comes across a bit more cocky, too. He’s earned his cockiness with those World Champion colors on his jersey.

Cavendish is currently racing in the Amgen Tour of California, which he’s said is among his favorite stage races. The certainly has his multitude of fans here in the Golden State. He probably won’t win the time trial today, and he’ll hang on for dear life on Mount Hamilton and Mount Diablo tomorrow, but there’s nothing like watching Cavendish pull it out at the last possible second to win a sprint stage like he did in yesterday’s photo finish in Sacramento.

I’m sure you can find this text at your local bike shop, or support your favorite cycling blog and buy it here.
