Happy Bike Month. There’s a lot going on but I want to get word about this event: a Bike to Work Day ride with the new General Manager for the Valley Transportation Authority, Nuria Fernandez. Santa Clara County Supervisor Ken Yeager (pictured below), VTA transportation planners, BPAC members, and other VTA staff will also participate in this morning ride from downtown San Jose to the VTA offices on North First Street.

Bike to Work Day takes place in the San Francisco Bay Area next Thursday, May 8, 2014. The VTA ride begins downtown San Jose at the VTA Customer Service Center, 55A West Santa Clara Street. This is on the north side of Santa Clara Street between 1st and Market.

After a short meet and greet at 7:00, wheels roll at 7:20 AM. They’ll head straight for the Guadalupe River Trail and turn north towards the Bay. The train will stop briefly at the Coleman Energizer Station on the trail, then continue to VTA River Oaks.

Hop on the this train and ride with the new GM, the BPAC, and Supervisor Yeager.
