Be a Silicon Valley “Route Scout”

Are you “that friend” who people ask for advice on getting somewhere by bike? Do you enjoy finding ways to use your bike to run errands, visit friends, or get to work?

Saturday ride: Cupertino to San Jose

If this sounds like you, join the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition’s team of Virtual Bike Route Scouts! Your expertise will help others use their bikes as a fun, healthy mode of transportation. They’re seeking volunteers to help with routes throughout San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties.

Virtual Bike Route Scouts play an important role in realizing the Bike Coalition’s goal to have 10% of trips taken by bike by 2025. Many people want to ride their bikes to get from A to B but aren’t sure how to find a route they’d be comfortable riding. By helping them find that route, you’ll grow our bicycling community – and more bicyclists means more voices speaking up for bicycle-friendly roads.

If this sounds like you, please attend an introductory meeting next Monday, January 11 from 6:30 – 8pm at the SVBC office (96 N. 3rd Street #375, San Jose). Please RSVP or send questions to Ann Jasper at ann@bikesiliconvalley.org.
