Your favorite Koch brands: Lycra, Coolmax and Thermolite

I and many of you favor high-tech fabrics for your active wear apparel. If you see trademarks like Lycra, Coolmax, Thermolite and Cordura on your cycling bibs, jerseys, jeans, jackets, backpacks and saddlebags, you’ve done your part to Make America Great Again.

These brands are produced by Invista, an important manufacturer of textiles and chemicals that was spun off from DuPont and sold to Koch Industries in 2004. Although headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, most textile manufacturing takes place in Mexico, Brazil and India.

  1. Do you really want to live your lives black-balling everyone who disagrees with your personal political views? It’s such an ugly trait regardless of left or right. Buying items of quality, produced at fair prices by free people is a righteous enough act.

  2. Don’t just list the Koch’s products, what about DeVos, Murdock, Trump, … the list keeps growing. Wool is hard to find and my old wool shorts and jerseys no longer fit me.

  3. It seems to me the ugliness starts with the Koch family using their profits to try to reshape the country in ways that detrimentally affect many of us. It makes sense to not want our own dollars used to work against us.

  4. Umm, you do know that the Kochs donated no money to the Trump campaign, right? I’d love to talk to anyone on this comment list about my personal experience with the family. The thing that irks me the most is that the articles written on this subject imply that I, as a supporter of some organizations that they’re associated with, supposedly am working behind the scenes to support Trump. Nothing could be further from the truth. Furthermore, posts like these are frustrating because there is no ideological basis for the claim. There may be a nexus between the ideologies espoused by Trump and the Charles Koch family, but just because they agree on a few things does not mean that one supports the other (the analogy would be that Trump and Clinton agreed on a few things, therefore they support each other).
Easy, what policy (or policies) are you specifically pointing to that are reshaping the country to work against you?
