I watched traffic backing up in front of my office along Bayfront Expressway in Menlo Park Tuesday afternoon, and it wasn’t long before I learned police closed the Dumbarton Bridge when a man threatened to jump.

Update: I’m now using Yahoo PlaceFinder service to generate map coordinates from addresses. The Cyclelicious Bike Route Map seems to be almost usable now! I’ve whipped up a bike route application using MapQuest’s bicycle routing API. I’m once again looking at my car-free transportation choices for traveling to the Sea Otter Festival at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey. The audio in this is lousy, but in this video from 2009 Sea Otter, Gary Fisher tells my buddy Erik how Sea Otter at Laguna Seca is a monument to our auto addiction. read more »
