A bike demo, hill sprints, and oh my aching legs

Whatever doesn’t kill me only makes me cry “Uncle!”: I overdid things with an extended demo on Specialized’s latest Roubaix bike and then hill sprints on a fixed gear bike. I’m in some real pain today. Ow.

Seattle bike dealer to open Dutch bike shop in Chicago Stephan Schier of the Dutch Bike Company Seattle plans to open the Dutch Bike Company Chicago (aka Dutch Bike Chicago) in September. “We already have an enthusiastic customer base in Chicago,” Stephan tells me, so it made sense for them to open a dealership there. read more »

Interbike: East coast demo days?

Interbike organizers are apparently contemplating demo days on the USA east coast near Providence, Rhode Island. Move Interbike to … somewhere else?

This article in Bike Europe about Interbike 2007 has some interesting tidbits about the show and the future of Interbike: Attendance: 22,515 unique badge-holders, of whom 11,054 were buyers. This is up from 21,682 and 10,378 respectively in 2006. 3,787 unique businesses (retailers) represented at the show, up from last year’s 3,239. Vegas sucks? On read more »
