Last night I repeated the news of the bike ban in Black Hawk, Colorado. You’ll recall that city officials cited ‘safety’ as the reason. So let’s look at bike safety in Black Hawk.
The town of Black Hawk, Colorado banned bicycles from most of its local streets. And Black Hawk Mayor David Spellman — who won the mayoral election unanimously in 2008 — is a drunken wife beater who consistently ranks as the most corrupt public official in Colorado. Really.
The city of Colorado Springs is reviewing an application to rent the highway out for a day for a group of cyclists who will pay for the privilege of riding to the summit of Pikes Peak. (more…)
Registration is now open for Denver B-cycle. The Colorado bike sharing program will launch a city-wide bike sharing program with up to 50 stations offering up to 500 bikes in Denver’s downtown and nearby neighborhoods. (more…)
