Pogies come from the world of kayaking — they’re protective covers wrapped around your hands and paddle shaft to keep your hands warm and dry as you paddle. Winter cyclists have adapted the idea with handlebar pogies — windproof shields connected to your handlebar.
A motorcycle rider uses rubber boots as improvised handlebar pogies. Something like this could work for bicycle handlebars too.
