New York Times sports journalist Juliet Macur mentioned little ol’ me in her story about Mark Cavendish’s stage win Sunday afternoon in Sacramento, California.
Later at the news conference, he spied a reporter with his autobiography, Boy Racer, and asked to hold it and show it to the crowd. He propped it up next to him and beamed like a showman.
Okay, so it’s really really non-specific, but that “reporter” really was me. Read the full story here.
I also got Mr Cavendish to autograph his autobiography, which will be available in the United States from Velopress this June.
Sweet, now your a reporter and a blogger. Way to go.
…nice !!!…you just provided an opportunity for young mr cavendish to promote his book on a world stage in a much better way than if he'd simply mentioned it…how many of those assembled even had a clue that he had one ???…
…not that i'm well informed but i certainly didn't know…
…sheesh…it should a' played out like the coke commercial w/ mean joe green & 'the kid' from years ago…as you walked away from the press conference, cav could say “hey, reporter…thanks !!!” & tossed ya his gold jersey…
…just sayin'…
Fantastic, what a good turn of fortuity!
Hey, what stage will you be viewing the race from in Santa Cruz? Final Stage?
Waiting for Juliet Macur to blog, “I'm in Cyclelicious!”
Nice! Congratulations on the mention.
