I was pedaling squares last night. Yehuda Moon pedaled squares today.
“Pedaling squares” is what avid cyclists call poor pedaling technique. Pedaling should appear smooth and fluid. If it looks clunky, awkward and slow, the cyclist is “pedaling squares.”
Pro cyclists might pedal squares at the end of a difficult, long stage of a multiday race, when they feel wobbly and must dig deeply into their suitcase of courage just to stay upright on the bike.
Pedaling squares is my normal form these days; I pedal circles only on an exceptional days. Your mileage may vary.
Besides pedaling squares, I might also peddle squares.
