Apparently a good time was had by all last night when the Los Angeles police joined LA Critical Mass.

Like my experience with Bike Party, the cops only intervened for the most egregiously unlawful behavior — property damage and the like — instead of cracking down on equipment violations. I think this police officer, for example, was in violation of CVC 21201(c), which is the law that makes tallbikes illegal in California.
