New peer-to-peer social networking service lists crowd-sourced bikes available for rent in San Francisco and New York City.
Spinlister launched on April 1 2012, listing bikes available for rent (cheap!) in San Francisco and New York City.
Bike owners list their bikes available for sharing and how much they charge daily. Prospective bike renters search by city, select the bike they like for how long, and submit credit card information to Spinlister. Spinlister takes care of the financial transaction and puts renter and owner in touch.
Did I mention renter and rentee meet to exchange the bike? When you search for bikes, you get photos of the bike you’ll rent. This photo of Tyler with her bike probably ensures she’ll meet her share of Internet creeps and weirdos.
To list your bike or search for one to rent (typical prices seem to be $11 to $13 per day, which is a screaming deal for the renter), go visit Spinlister. It seems to be suffering the slashdot effect right now so good luck getting in.
H/T Alex.
