Greetings! There’s been a lot of activity in the bicycle biz this past couple of weeks. Below are the most spectacular and interesting opportunities I’ve found. If you have any feedback or know about any jobs I missed, please email me or join me on LinkedIn.
Jobs in the Bay Area:
- The East Bay Bicycle Coalition (EBBC) works to ensure safe and enjoyable bicycling for everyone in the East Bay. They are experiencing continued growth and are hiring a variety of interns.
- TransForm is working to create world-class public transportation and walkable communities in the Bay Area. They are hiring a Communications Director.
- The Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission is seeking a Construction Manager for improvements to the Santa Cruz Branch Rail Line. Richard tells me there is a plan to build a bicycle/pedestrian path along most of this railroad in Santa Cruz County.
Jobs Elsewhere in the World:
Non-Profit:
- TransOptions is a New Jersey transit-oriented advocacy group. They are seeking a Bicycle and Pedestrian Program Specialist. (Cedar Knolls, NJ)
- The City of Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Planner with an emphasis on bicycle and transit planning.
- Recycle-A-Bicycle, a unique community shop serving New York City, is seeking an Experienced Bicycle Mechanic and Educator. (NYC)
- The Bicycle Transportation Alliance in Portland, OR is hiring a part-time, temporary Walk and Bike Assistant Ambassador.
For-Profit:
- Beachbikes.com (guess what they sell) is hiring an E-Commerce and Entrepreneurship Intern. (Torrance, CA)
- ABUS is a pretty well-known German security device manufacturer. I’ve been seeing their bicycle locks around town more and more. They are in need of a full-time Office Manager at their North American HQ. (Chicago, IL)
- Carolina Tailwinds, a bicycle tour company in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a seasonal Bicycle Mechanic and Warehouse Manager.
- RockyMounts makes some of the best bike and ski racks in the world. They are hiring a Dealer Service Rep with Creative Skills. (Boulder, CO)
- Do you like beer and have a good sense of humor? Then you could be the next Sales Manager at Victory Bicycle Studio in Memphis, TN.
- From what I hear Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop in Austin, TX has been fairly immune to the current Lance controversies. They are advertising in about a dozen major cities for their next Experienced Bicycle Mechanic.
- Alchemy Goods, manufacturer of bicycle-related bags and accessories out of reclaimed goods, is hiring an Account Manager. (Seattle, WA)
- Another company focused on “ethically constructed goods” is Green Guru Gear. They are in need of a Marketing Intern. (Boulder, CO)
- SoupCycle is a tight crew of artisan soup makers delivering their meals exclusively by bicycle. They are seeking a Lead Soup Cook and Kitchen Manager – must love soup and bicycles. (Portland, OR)
- Shinola Bicycles manufactures beautiful bikes, handmade watches, and leather goods with the aim of bringing typically outsourced jobs back to downtown Detroit, MI. They are seeking an Experienced Sales Manager.
