No bikes allowed at the bike festival

It appears organizational ineptitude has a history.

Dateline OMAHA, Nebraska, August 15, 1898 —

The Nebraska Division of the L.A.W.  did a while lot to make the widely advertised Wheelmens Day and Bicycle parade at the Omaha Exposition a big event. But by a series of blunders, the Fair refused to admit bicycles until the day was more than half over and later on refused to let wheels (bicycles) be ridden on the Exposition grounds.
