This exceeds my usual standards in poor bike porn photography so I don’t know if you can tell from looking, but that’s a Bike Friday Tikit folding bike built up with Gates Carbon belt drive and a Shimano Alfine 11 speed hub.

I admire Bike Friday bikes, but I haven’t paid much attention to them lately and was completely unaware of this build option, which is available for $2989, with 21″ to 86″ or 23″ to 94″ gear inches depending on which size cog you get. An 8 speed version is also available. The bike shown here as the “old” style belt drive; Bike Friday tells me they’ll have Gates CenterTrack available in 2012.
