Pietro Ferrero, one of the brothers who runs the Italian candy company Ferrero SpA, was an avid cyclist. He died Monday during a bicycle ride in South Africa.
Ferrero is heir to the company that invented Nutella. In the United States, Ferrero is also know for their Tic Tac breath mints.
According to news reports, the 47 year old Ferrero collapsed while on a training ride near Cape Town. Authorities say Ferrero apparently passed from a heart attack during his ride.
His father is the richest man in Italy. Pietro was the heir apparent to the family fortune before his untimely death.
Cycling around Cape Town would be a beautiful place to go. But dead at 47! Yikes!
