When the city of San Jose DOT presented information about proposed cycling facilities to East Side residents last summer, staff learned that East Side residents want more white stripes of gentrification for their neighborhoods. To that end, the city received a grant to build on-street bikeways in this area and seek community input on how to spend this money.
The East San Jose On-street Bikeways Public Workshop takes place 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm, Wednesday November 19, 2014 at the Alum Rock Youth Center, 137 N. White Road, San Jose, CA, located near Alum Rock Avenue next to James Lick High School.
The intersection at Alum Rock and White are served by VTA buses 25, 45, and 71. It’s a little bit of a hike to Capitol Expressway and Alum Rock, where you can catch VTA 23, 25, and 522. The meeting location is about a mile from either the McKee or Alum Rock light rail stations.
Spanish and Vietnamese translation services will be available at the workshop. An event flyer with more information will be available next week.
That´s super cool!!! 🙂
