Happy 3/14. Pi Mobility in Sausalito, Caliifornia manufactures one of the better looking eBikes I’ve seen.
This is the PiCycle Limited, featuring fenders, belt drive, kickstand, a range of 35 to 45 miles, and a claimed top speed of 30 MPH (?). There’s even a 12 volt socket so you can plug in your cigarette lighter accessory charger. Metal fabrication and assembly is done locally in the Bay Area.
This video shows the PiCycle is the perfect stalker vehicle. Instead of posting to Craigslist missed connections, this enterprising bike rider races the Golden Gate Ferry from Sausalito across the Bay to the San Francisco Ferry building to meet his true love. The ferry trip is 25 minutes; by bike it’s about 10 miles from the Sausalito Ferry Terminal to the Ferry Building in SF so you might just make it if you hurry.
Those are fenders?
I know, right?
Great lines on that ebike! But it really needs a rear rack for panniers.
And 30mph top speed? Doesn’t that cross a speed limit for being a street legal ebike in some jurisdictions? I know here in Ontario, Canada the limit is 20km/hr for ebikes.
US Federal law says anything that can push you over 20 mph is a motorcycle, so I wonder about that 30 mph claim too.

I like the bike and the video does a pretty good job of telling an engaging story rather than just pushing the tech and specs on you.
