One of my favorite destinations, for so many reasons.
Actual Cafe will, for one more reason, be my destination the night of Saturday, May 28. Cafe owner Sal Bednarz is hosting a fundraiser for the 2011 AIDS Life Cycle.
The Actual Ride actually starts at Ashby BART at 5:30. A 90 minute ride through the inviting neighborhoods of Berkeley and Oakland ends at Sal’s place. The fundraiser after the ride begins at 7:00.
From the Facebook page: “We’ll have a raffle with prizes donated by Trumer Pils (including a snowboard!), Lagunitas (including a catered tour of the Lagunitas Brewery for up to 10 of your closest friends!), New Belgium (including a cruiser bike!), Pushcart Design, The Girl and Rhino, Girl on Bike, Rachel Duffy, and Terri Saul. Music by Steffy Sue on the Uke and Jemmy Joe on the Banjo (For Fear the Hearts of Men are Failing).”
A Saturday night ride, fundraising for the most worthy of causes, and Actual Cafe. Win, win, win. If you see me there, stop and say “hi.”
This is the actual ride instead.
