Crazy bike signs in Los Altos Hills

Caution: Superman on bike ahead

Super Bike sign

Bay Area cyclists are having fun with these new signs posted along Altamont Road in Los Altos Hills, CA.

This Superman sign is on Altamont Road in Los Altos Hills, CA, a little ways up from the front tire missing sign, which is a little ways up from Foothill College, where the city of Los Altos Hills was forced to remove illegal “NO BIKES” stenciling from the pavement on El Monte Road in 2008.

Update: Janet demonstrates the “Superman” technique for us in this video. (Thank you, Nippleworks!)

This photo by Steven Woo, who asks, “Riders with bento boxes will superman up this hill?”

What’s your interpretation of this sign?

The sign is a PSA showing people how to ride with scuba flippers.

I think it's not actually a Superman position. It's someone who really, really likes his bike, if you know what I mean.
