Good morning. I’m getting over a weird summer fever right now, but I managed to catch the start of the July 2010 San Jose Bike Party at Santa Clara University last Friday evening.
Last Friday was my sixth Bike Party I photographed, and at every ride I see something new and different. This time, for example, it was tongues. This young woman’s tongue matches her wonderfully pink stretch cruiser bicycle, her shoe soles, grips, and watchband.
Your tongue, however, is more than a fashion accessory. This brunette on the Trek 6000 mountain bike shows her playful exuberance with her cockeyed helmet and a flirtatious lick.
Sometimes the tongue’s message can go askew. This girl saw me and thrust out her tongue but then decided she needed to keep her eyes on the road for safety!
How is your tongue useful to you while bicycling?
Is the “tongue” the new “duck face”? or did you ask them all to stick out their tongues?
The tongues were totally unsolicited; I was surprised to see so many. Two is a coincidence; three is a trend.
I’m too scared to stick my tongue out while riding. ( partly due to a speed bump incident as a kid )
I know the feeling. I feel like I *must* wear closed toed shoes all the time on a bike because I nearly lost some toes while riding with flip flops as a kid.
