Redline unveiled their new carbon fiber disc ready Conquest Cyclocross bicycle during Sea Otter this week in Monterey, California. It’s a sweet looking machine.
Redline’s Conquest Pro and Team are different build options sharing the same 1200 gram carbon fiber frame and fork.
Right now, Redline specs the bikes with TRP EuroX Canti Brakes (on the $3500 Team build) or Kore Canti Brakes (on the $2600 Pro build), but Redline added mounts for disc brakes and hydraulic lines for the brakes. Hydraulic road levers are not available yet, but Redline’s marketing manager Tim Rutledge tells me we can likely expect to see some CX hydraulic options appear before the next CX season.
Tim is superenthusiastic about everything Redline and Torker, but as a veteran CX racer he’s especially stoked about this new offering. BB30, a beefy tapered steering tube and tapered forks make a stiff frame for good power transfer, while the chainstay has enough flex to take the edge off. While CX bikes often double as commuters, the 2012 Redline Conquest is purely a racing machine with no fender or rack mounts.
The bike will be available towards the end of summer.
H/T to Daniel.
