Amazon.com now has a “Bike Commuter Store,” which they launched to “celebrate” the League of American Bicyclists Bike to Work Month.
Amazon says their “cycling team is riding to work and road testing bike commuter products featured on this page” to ” highlight bikes, gear, and cycling apparel that helps commuting customers pedal along to any destination.” Amazon is headquartered in Seattle, where about 3% of workers commute to work by bicycle and 20% use public transportation.
Cyclelicious is still an Amazon.com affiliate. We’ll see what happens when/if California Assembly Bill 153 (the “Amazon Tax Bill”) makes it out of subcommittee.
Via AltTransport and with a hat tip to Kent.
Very interesting! Did not know Amazon had their own cycling team – all the more reason to shop there!
I don’t think they sponsor a racing team (though maybe somebody in Seattle
can tell me different). I think they just call their bike commuters a
‘team’.
