Bike + Transit Haiku

Jackie Dishner aka “Bike Lady” celebrates the joy of bikes and biking with a few haiku. Thanks, Jackie, for the inspiration! Here’s my baiku of the day:

    Bike To Work Day soon.
    So many people with bikes!
    Crush crowd in Caltrain.

Good to see the baiku’s are still flowing. Nicely done, Jackie.

The hike is not a kind of Japanese haiku which has 5, 7, 5 sounds. However, baiku is interesting, right?

    Hi Shuichi,

For English language haiku, we do 5/7/5 syllables for the lines. It doesn’t
translate exactly from Basho’s haiku but it’s the same idea.

Sorry for my late reply. Ah, I see “syllables” 5/7/5. It is not similar to the pronunciations between Japanese and English, but they are the same actually. Have a fun time !
