The Amgen Tour of California Lifestyle Festival in San Jose begins Wednesday morning at Berryessa Community Church, 3355 Sierra Rd, San Jose, CA, right where the Tour racers will turn onto Sierra Road for the climb to the finish. Sierra Road will be closed tomorrow — the only way to the finish line is by hiking or cycling four miles to the top of the road. Fans will line both sides of the road. The Festival area is about a mile from the Hostetter Road light rail station on VTA’s Capital Avenue line. From this station, walk or bike up Berryessa Road to the festival area. Limited parking is available in the area at the church lot, some nearby commercial lots. Roads on the Tour route will be subject to “rolling closures” as the race approaches and passes through the area — see map.
Other San Jose viewing locations:
- Piedmont Road and Penitencia Creek Road on both sides of the road.
- Toyon Avenue and Golf Drive at the turn.
- Toyon Avenue at McKee Road.
- Alum Rock Road at McKee Road.
- Mount Hamilton Road and McKee Road.
- There’s also viewing party at a home on Sierra Road that sounds pretty cool.
This is a first ever finish in San Jose and I’m not quite sure yet where I’ll be camped out yet, but it’ll be somewhere along Sierra Road. Feel free to say hello if you see me.
