Engineering flowchart - WD40 or Duct Tape

This diagram is making the rounds on the various social networking sites. Spingineer tells me this was originally posted by George Takei (aka “Sulu”) who joked that he hoped Scotty didn’t follow this flowchart.

WD-40, incidentally, is your bike shop’s favorite lube.

  1. If WD40 is your bike shop’s favourite lube, you need a new bike shop. WD40 is a degreaser/solvent which is used – as the chart shows – to unstick stuck parts. It will remove lubricant from those parts along with the grime and surface rust. Nothing wrong with using WD40, but – assuming you want them to keep moving – you need to lubricate the unstuck parts once they’re unstuck!
