  1. If WD40 is your bike shop’s favourite lube, you need a new bike shop. WD40 is a degreaser/solvent which is used – as the chart shows – to unstick stuck parts. It will remove lubricant from those parts along with the grime and surface rust. Nothing wrong with using WD40, but – assuming you want them to keep moving – you need to lubricate the unstuck parts once they’re unstuck!
