Like other Critical Mass events around the United States, Miami’s bike event is held on the last Friday of every month. About 2000 people participated in tonight’s ride.
San Francisco 20th Anniversary Photos
This Friday night marks the 20th Anniversary of Critical Mass in San Francisco, where the anti-car protest began with just 50 riders. Critical Mass has since spread to 350 cities around the world. An estimated 10,000 people, many of whom traveled from out of town and out of the country, gathered at Justin Herman Plaza tonight. San Francisco police joined tonight’s ride to ensure violence against motorists was kept at a minimum, though there were isolated incidents such as slashed tires on a taxi cab.
