For those planning to bike up Mount Diablo to catch the Amgen Tour of California stage 3 finish  Tuesday, take note of the forecast high temperature and please bring water.

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for East Bay interior valleys.

If you’ve never biked up Mount Diablo, the road up is longer, steeper and more exposed than you’ll expect. At this time of year we’re not yet  acclimated to heat so take it easy and pay attention to your body.
