Pride comes before the fall

Some of you who know me have heard me brag that I’ve never caught a bike wheel in train tracks.

Well, guess what happened last night?

I was riding in the light rail ROW in downtown San Jose, spazzed at an unexpected obstruction and *whoops!* dropped my front wheel into the tracks. Down I went. I even had an appreciative audience. Ah well.

I think I’ve already linked to this list of foolproof rules for bike safety that includes a note about the importance of flying rats, but Refinery 29 (a fashion blog) has to dress it up with a photo of an attractive young woman with a bike.

Planetizen: Three distinct types of bike riders. There are “strong and fearless,” “enthused and confident,” and “interested but concerned.” I think a poll is in order soon!

Sorry to hear about this, Richard. I hope it was only just a little embarrassing and you didn’t get hurt at all.
